Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to support therapy services and patient care. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and document progress in the medical record. Collaboration with families, physicians, and the care team is essential.

Responsibilities include supervising assistants, ordering and fitting adaptive equipment, and ensuring safe, compliant practice. A focus on continuing education and professional growth is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of use of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aids, assistive and resistive devices, and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Aids in restoration and enhancement of independence for patients.
• Evaluates and treats patients and documents services.
• Communicates with families, physicians and health team members.
• Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides as required.
• Instructs families/nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Prepares for and participates in rehab team conferences and meetings.
• Collaborates with fellow staff and discharge planners.
• Maintains accurate documentation for regulatory and billing purposes.
