Independence Health System Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist to perform evaluations, develop plans of care, and promote discharge planning across the hospital.

You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other staff to deliver age-appropriate care and to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities include documenting in EMR, educating patients and families, ensuring accurate coding and billing, participating in program development, and supporting supervision of COTA and students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OT program approved by the AOTA.
• Strong leadership ability, organizational skills, independent/critical thinking, good judgment.
• Knowledge of legal aspects and liability in nursing practice.
• Clear communication of complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Strong time management; independent and team-oriented work; adaptable treatment approaches.
• Understanding of current billing requirements and payor guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Performs age-appropriate OT evaluations and plans of care.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals to modify treatment as needed.
• Oversees COTA, students, and support personnel professionally.
• Maintains accurate, timely EMR documentation and discharge planning.
• Educates patients/families and documents education progress.
• Ensures proper coding/billing and coordination with insurance providers.
