Job summary

MEDICAL WEST HOSPITAL AUTHORITY seeks an Occupational Therapist to plan and implement OT programs tailored to individual goals, restoring function and independence. The role includes evaluating strength, coordination, ROM, and daily living skills, while coordinating with care teams and families.

You will supervise staff, participate in discharge planning, document pertinent data, and engage in educational activities to support department operations. Student training is also provided.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the State of Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapist.
• Must possess American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans an OT program to meet goals for restoration of function.
• Assesses maximum abilities for adjustment to limitations in strength, coordination, ROM, independence in activities of daily living.
• Supervises assigned supportive personnel and participates in discharge planning.
• Documents pertinent information and communicates with staff, patients, and families.
• Participates in educational activities and supports departmental operations; performs special responsibilities/projects.
• Provides student training.
