Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, develop care plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living activities. The role includes planning discharges, creating home programs, and coordinating with physicians and families.

You will document progress, maintain standards, and may supervise OT assistants while upholding safety and infection control measures within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state where you work; BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred.
• No experience required; willingness to learn and grow within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates patient abilities across physical, cognitive, social and vocational domains.
• Establishes and implements a care plan using appropriate techniques; fabricates assistive devices as needed.
• Plans for discharge including home programs, family teaching and coordination with post‑acute services.
• Documents assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries per policy and timelines.
• Maintains productivity standards and ensures billing documentation complies with guidelines.
• Supervises OT assistants or rehab aides where applicable and mentors staff as requested.
