Job summary

Independence Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, establish plans of care, and collaborate with the care team across hospital settings. The role requires adherence to policies, flexibility for weekend/evening hours, and active participation in program development and community outreach.

You will supervise COTA and aides, document in EMR, educate patients and families, support discharge planning, and contribute to revenue and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the AOTA.
• Leadership, organizational skills, and independent thinking.
• Knowledge of legal aspects and liability in nursing practice.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to a wide audience.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of current billing requirements and payor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Documents on white boards to aid interdisciplinary communication and continuity of care.
• Performs clinical responsibilities to provide age-appropriate patient care.
• Completes evaluations within policy timeframes.
• Initiates discussions with physician to modify the treatment program.
• Oversees COTA, students, and support personnel.
• Maintains records in EMR per practice setting and discharges planning information.
