Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the AMA/Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the AOTA.
• Licensed as an occupational therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
• Two years of clinical OT experience.
• Current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient’s functional status and home environment; identifies equipment needs; develops total plan of care.
• Performs work capacity evaluation and refers to vocational training when applicable.
• Develops treatment program and communicates plan of care to physicians and team members.
• Teaches or retrains patient in daily activities; may fabricate splints and instruct on adaptive equipment.
• Trains patient in use of prosthetic/orthotic devices; maintains clinical records and reports changes to physician.
• Maintains communication with care team for coordinated, comprehensive plans.
