Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Santa Cruz is hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, plan and provide treatment for residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues. The role includes clinical services, interdisciplinary collaboration and home assessment duties to ensure safe discharge.

Qualified candidates hold a California OT license, with a BS/MS/OTD in hand; new graduates are welcome. Sign-on bonus available; PTO and referral bonuses are offered as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy issued by California.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, ROM and coordination.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established care plan.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.

ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice Therapy Occupational Therapy Issued by California.
