Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the Senior Health Center in Brunswick, ME. The role organizes and conducts prescribed therapy programs using goal-directed activity to treat patients whose function is impaired by illness, injury, disabilities, or aging, with the aim of optimal functioning and prevention of disability.

Required education is an AOTA-accredited OT program, state licensure, and BLS certification (or to obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
• License/Certifications: Current applicable state license as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Driver's license with vehicle required for Home Care positions.
• Experience: One year of hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient OT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs.
• Apply purposeful, goal-directed activity to treat impairments from illness, injury, or aging.
• Aim to achieve optimal functioning, prevent disability, and maintain health.

Summary

The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.


2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.


3. Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $37.09to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
