Job summary

The Occupational Therapist role at Cove's Edge within the MaineHealth system focuses on organizing and delivering prescribed OT programs to children with developmental and health needs.

You will work in a collaborative Preschool program (Glickman Lauder Center) with SLPs, OTs, BCBA, PTs, educators, and nurses to support communication, learning, and independence. Candidates must have an OT degree, state licensure, BLS, and a valid Maine driver license for home care assignments.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program.
  • Current state OT license or compliance with state practice act.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct prescribed skilled OT programs.
  • Apply goal-directed activity to treat impairments from illness, injury or disability.

Summary

The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.

The Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders Preschool provides year-round, intensive, evidence-based services for children ages 3 to 5 with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental needs.

Our program is built on a collaborative, multidisciplinary treatment model that brings together Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physical Therapists (PTs), Special Educators, Educational Technicians/Behavioral Health Professionals, and nurses.. Through the integration of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and specialized therapeutic services, our team works together to support each child's communication, social-emotional development, learning, independence, and overall well-being.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  3. Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20to $104,353.60per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).

In addition to base pay, MaineHealth offerscomprehensivebenefits, recognition programs, career growth opportunities, and,where applicable,shiftdifferentials or other incentives.
