Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for Ascension Sacred Heart Rehab Panama City Beach in Panama City Beach, FL. You will assess pediatric patients, design and implement care plans, document progress, and assist with discharge planning within the pediatric rehab services department.

This role requires a Florida-licensed OT, BLS within 30 days of hire, and a Bachelor's degree (Master's or Doctorate preferred).

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• OT credential from the Florida Board prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s ability to safely perform independent living skills.
• Design and implement the plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Document patient progress and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Assist with discharge planning and advise on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee care by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assess patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
