Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our pediatrics clinic on a PRN schedule. You will provide skilled OT services to develop, recover, and maintain functional abilities, in a supportive community setting.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, KY state licensure, and BLS certification. You will educate families, plan discharges, and supervise therapy assistants in a compliant, compassionate

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• KY State Licensure for Occupational Therapy is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.
• Assess ability to perform occupational tasks and design the plan of care.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document progress and modify the plan of care as needed; seek consultation as necessary.
• Educate patient and family/caregiver about deficits and care options.
• Assist with discharge planning and advise on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate to certified OT assistants and therapy technicians as per licensing laws.

How you'll contribute

An occupational therapist (OT) who excels in this role:

• Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.


• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.


• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.


• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.


• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.


• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.


• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.

What we're looking for
