Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide skilled OT services to patients to develop, recover, and maintain occupational skills. You will design and implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, and help coordinate discharge planning within a compassionate care team.

Eligible candidates hold KY State Licensure, a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Licensure required: KY State Licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.
• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills; designs the plan of care and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents patient progress and adjusts the plan of care as needed; seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates patient and family/caregiver about deficits and care options.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge; advises on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates care provided by assistants and therapy technicians per licensing laws.

How you'll contribute

An occupational therapist (OT) who excels in this role:

• Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.

• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.

• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.

• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.

• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.

What we're looking for
