Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide skilled services in patients ages 0–21, at least twice weekly, in homes or daytime facilities. You will use appropriate testing instruments to define impairments and prepare diagnostic reports.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to set goals, educate staff and caregivers, and modify care plans to meet therapy objectives, including potential supervision of assistants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Current Texas state license.
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patients' degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
