Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric OT services in patients' homes or daytime facilities. The role involves evaluating motor and sensory impairments, interpreting diagnostics, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to set and monitor goals.

Responsibilities include educating staff, caregivers, and patients and possibly supervising assistants.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in occupational therapy and Texas state licensure
• Experience in pediatrics is required
• Clinical hours completed or practicum hours fulfilled

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes or daytime facility 0-21 years old, 2+ times per week
• Define patients' degree and type of impairments using appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan goals and coach team in OT modalities
• Modify care plans to meet OT goals
• Educate staff, caregivers and patients through training and materials
• May supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants

Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
• Current Texas state license
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patients degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
