Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Richardson, TX seeks a licensed occupational therapist to provide pediatric therapy services in clients' homes or daytime facilities, with 2+ visits per week as prescribed.

You will assess and treat ages 0–21, plan and coordinate OT interventions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet each patient’s goals. Spanish language skills are a plus; mentoring and career support are provided.

Qualifications

• OT degree from an accredited college or university
• Current Texas state license
• Experience in pediatrics required
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed
• Home health experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OT services in patients' home or daytime facility, 0–21 years, 2+ visits per week per physician orders
• Define patients' degree and type of impairment using appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written reports
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to plan/evaluate goals and advise staff on OT modalities
• Plan for and modify care to meet OT goals and interventions
• Educate staff, caregivers and patients through training materials and in-service programs
• May supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patients' degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
