You will supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides, document services in the medical record, and collaborate with families, physicians, and the health team to ensure safe, effective care and compliant practice.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of use of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aides, assistive and resistive devices, and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Aids in the restoration and enhancement of independent function by evaluating and treating patients.
• Communicates with families, physicians and health team; documents in medical records.
• Supervises COTAs and/or aides in direct patient care per policy and regulations.
• Communicates patient progress and plans with supervisor and health team.
• Instructs families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Interviews patient and families about functioning, lifestyle, and expectations.
• Assesses and issues necessary ADL equipment to facilitate independence.
• Demonstrates safe working practices.
