Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of physical modalities in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic/orthotic devices and assistive devices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all patient types.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Developing effective plan of treatment and obtaining approvals from referring physicians.
• Supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or Aides in direct patient care.
• Communicating with supervisor and health team about patient progress.
• Instructing families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Interviewing patient and families regarding previous functioning and goals.
• Assessing, training, and issuing necessary ADL equipment and durable medical equipment.
