Job summary

Providence seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan, direct and administer medically prescribed therapy programs in the hospital to restore function after disease or injury and help patients reach maximum independence.

The role includes performing administrative duties, participating in performance improvement and safety programs, and may orient staff or supervise students in the absence of the supervisor. California license and BLS certification are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of the American Occupational Therapy Association training program.
• Environmental orientation within 30 days of hire.
• California Occupational Therapist License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facility, outpatient, and/or subacute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct and administer medically prescribed occupational therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability.
• Assist patients to reach maximum performance and independence.
• Perform administrative duties and participate in department performance improvement, infection control, safety and education programs.
• May orient staff and students and assume duties of supervisor in their absence.
