Providence seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan, direct and administer medically prescribed therapy programs in the hospital to restore function after disease or injury and help patients reach maximum independence.
The role includes performing administrative duties, participating in performance improvement and safety programs, and may orient staff or supervise students in the absence of the supervisor. California license and BLS certification are required upon hire.
Evaluates, plans, directs and administers medically prescribed occupational therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Assists patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capacities. Performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance improvement, Infection control, and safety and education programs. The staff Occupational Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Occupational Therapist Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.
