Job summary

Fruitvale Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). You will administer treatments, perform assessments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to support resident discharge planning.

The role requires an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, California OTA license, and a willingness to work within established plans of care. New graduates are welcome, and a sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Current California OT Assistant license.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respirato ry and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments to ensure discharge to a safe environment.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:
