Skyline Healthcare Center-San Jose is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our team in California. The role involves administering therapeutic interventions for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions and performing assessments to evaluate strength, range of motion, and respiratory efficiency.

You will work under an established plan of care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and help residents discharge safely with appropriate home care strategies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment according to a care plan.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.

ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
