Job summary

Glendale Transitional Care Center in California is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to support residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal concerns. You will administer treatments and participate in an interdisciplinary team, ensuring a safe and effective plan of care.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy and a CA OTA license; one year of clinical experience preferred, new grads welcome.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for muscle strength, ROM and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to aid safe discharge planning.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
