Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for full-time day shifts. Working Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient progress and transition planning.

Join a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation setting that treats strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and orthopedic injuries. Licensed COTA in the state and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• License: Licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered is required.
• Certifications: CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with all regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
