Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a full-time day shift. The role involves creating individualized treatment plans to improve patient independence, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and documenting care in accordance with regulatory standards.

A Texas? state license is required, along with CPR certification and strong organizational and communication skills.

• Current and unrestricted Occupational Therapy license in the state where services are rendered.

Responsibilities

• Develop a specialized treatment plan to aid rehabilitation through exercise and assistive devices.
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and team; instruct family/nursing staff in follow-through.
• Document patient care in compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe, clean condition.
• Perform duties in line with company policies and applicable laws.

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!

How You'll Contribute:

• Develop a specialized treatment plan to help him/her achieve as much as possible in regaining his/her well-being through exercise and/or use of prosthetic and orthotic devices. You and your staff will play an important role in his/her recovery
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned
