Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Santa Monica, CA. The role involves evaluating and treating residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues, performing assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to implement care plans.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/OTD in Occupational Therapy.
• California OT license required.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment for neuromuscular/musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers and interprets tests for muscle strength, ROM, coordination, respiration and circulation.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Works within interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists with home assessments to ensure safe discharge.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed!
• Current license to practice Therapy Occupational Therapy Issued by California.
