Job summary

Vale Healthcare Center in California is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues. You will administer tests for strength, ROM, and respiratory and circulatory function, and provide direct clinical care within an established plan of care.

Join a collaborative interdisciplinary team, offer adaptive tools, and ensure patient confidentiality while participating in home assessments for safe discharge.

Qualifications

• Requires California OT license.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Bachelor/Master/Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers and interprets tests for strength, coordination, ROM, and respiration/circulation.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice Therapy Occupational Therapy Issued by California.
