Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Acute Care Occupational Therapist - Pool/PRN for St. Joseph's North in Lutz, FL.

The role focuses on comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient ADLs, mobility, and safety. The OT will provide neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training, while documenting progress and educating patients and caregivers for home safety and independence.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support certification is required.
• OT (Occupational Therapy) license or eligibility is required.
• Eligible to obtain OT licensure.
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Preferred 1-year OT experience is noted in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety.
• Provide therapeutic interventions including neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.
