Job summary

BayCare in Florida seeks an Acute Care Occupational Therapist – Pool/PRN to join St. Joseph’s North. You’ll evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers to support safe discharges.

Requirements include Basic Life Support, OT licensure or eligibility, a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy, and preferred 1 year of OT experience. Schedule is 8:30–5, with occasional weekends; on-site role with no remote work.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• OT licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Preferred 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety.
• Provide therapeutic interventions including neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.
