Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers in families' homes and community settings.

You will conduct developmental assessments, follow IFSPs, and coach families using a Parent Coaching Model to support progress and caregiver confidence.

Qualifications

• California Occupational Therapy license required.
• Pediatric experience in Early Intervention preferred.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide OT services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow IFSP and collaborate with families to set developmental goals.
• Utilize family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Deliver services in natural environments: homes, daycares, and community settings.
• Perform reassessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
