Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our home-based Early Intervention team in California. You will assess infants and toddlers, develop strategies with families, and deliver services in natural environments.

The role emphasizes parent coaching and family-centered care, with flexible schedules and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in California
• Pediatric EI experience preferred
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide OT services using the Parent Coaching Model
• Align with each child’s IFSP and work with families to meet developmental goals
• Utilize family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, community)
• Prepare re-assessments and progress reports (bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
