Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide home-based Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers and their families.

You will work within families' homes and community settings, using the Parent Coaching Model to support developmental goals. Responsibilities include assessments, IFSP-driven plan implementation, progress reporting, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing in California.
• Pediatric EI experience preferred.
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide OT services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow IFSP goals and work with families to develop strategies for progress.
• Build caregiver confidence using family-centered coaching to generalize progress.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, including homes and community settings.
• Perform re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Opportunities to serve infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families in both their home and community-based settings

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
