Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide home-based early intervention for infants and toddlers in California.

You will work with families to develop strategies that support developmental goals, using a family-centered coaching approach in the child’s natural environments. Requirements include a California OT license, pediatric experience, strong clinical and communication skills, and bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• California Occupational Therapy license is required.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills are required.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide occupational therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and collaborate with families to meet developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Deliver services in the child’s natural environment: homes, daycare centers, or community settings.
• Perform re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annually.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers' confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child's natural environment, in families' homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
