Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide home-based Early Intervention services to infants, toddlers and families in California.

You will conduct developmental assessments, develop strategies via IFSP, coach families, and deliver services in homes, daycare centers and community settings with a family-centered approach. Travel between sessions is expected.

Qualifications

• California OT license (required).
• Pediatric experience with Early Intervention preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide OT services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and collaborate with families to reach developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and skills.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, community).
• Perform reassessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
