Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide home-based Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers in San Marcos and surrounding areas.

Work flexible hours, create your own schedule, and support families in their natural environments while building developmental skills. A CA OT license and pediatric EI experience are preferred; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• California Occupational Therapy license required.
• Pediatric experience in Early Intervention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with the family to develop strategies.
• Utilize family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (homes, daycares, community).
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA and state/federal regs.

Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Opportunities to serve infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families in both their home and community-based settings

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
