Job summary

AVIR at Brownwood is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team in Brownwood, Texas. We are hiring for Full-Time and Per Diem opportunities to support residents' functional independence.

You will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance quality of life through skilled OT services and education.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.
  • Graduate of an accredited OT program.
  • Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' functional abilities, occupational performance, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop individualized OT treatment plans based on residents' clinical needs and goals.
  • Provide skilled OT services in accordance with treatment plans and standards of care.
  • Implement interventions to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, ADLs, and independence.
  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with COTAs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing, physicians, and rehab team.

AVIR at Brownwood is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. We are currently hiring for Full-Time and Per Diem opportunities.

Our in-house rehabilitation program provides an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals to help residents achieve greater functional independence and improve their quality of life.

Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' functional abilities, occupational performance, and rehabilitation needs.

  • Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on each resident's clinical needs and goals.

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with established treatment plans and applicable standards of care.

  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and functional independence.

  • Monitor residents' progress and response to treatment and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with COTAs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs.

  • Provide recommendations regarding adaptive equipment, positioning, safety, and strategies to maximize functional independence.

  • Complete evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and professional standards.

  • Promote a compassionate, respectful, and resident-centered approach to care.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license in good standing.

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

  • Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or a similar setting is preferred.

  • Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
