Job summary

John A. Logan College is seeking a dynamic Coordinator of Occupational Safety & Workplace Training to lead safety education and workforce training across its service area.

You will develop and deliver programs, build partnerships with employers, labor groups, and community partners, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The role requires five years in safety/training, OSHA credentials, and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical learning.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of occupational safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.
• Experience delivering training and working with employers or community partners.
• OSHA Outreach Trainer certification (OSHA 500, OSHA 501, or equivalent) or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver occupational safety and workplace training programs.
• Assess employer and workforce needs and develop customized training solutions.
• Provide instruction on occupational, industrial, environmental, emergency, and equipment safety topics.
• Develop and maintain training materials, assessments, certifications, and instructional resources.
• Translate complex safety and regulatory requirements into practical, engaging learning experiences.
• Develop strong relationships with employers, labor organizations, government agencies, and community partners.
• Coordinate training schedules, participant communications, evaluations, certifications, and logistics.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to programs and participants.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and College policies.
