Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital – Labor and Delivery is seeking a Nurse Aide to support obstetric procedures, patient care, and equipment readiness. The role includes 7a-7p shifts, 0.9 FTE, and a 36-hour work week with holiday and weekend track requirements.

Responsibilities include scrubbing for deliveries, assisting with surgeries, ensuring sterile fields, and training staff on equipment. BLS and Nursing Assistant certification are required within 6 months unless exempted.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide certification in good standing (State Registry)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months unless exempted by supervisor
• Advanced on-the-job training provided

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures and deliveries with sterile technique.
• Scrub for obstetrical procedures and prepare materials and instruments.
• Support direct patient care activities and safety needs.
• Train technicians and RN staff on equipment and procedures.
• Maintain stock of sterile supplies and readiness for emergencies.
