Job summary

Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor & Delivery unit. You will assist the surgeon, maintain sterile technique, and coordinate instrument setup to ensure patient safety during complex procedures.

Responsibilities include gowning, draping, passing instruments, preparing dressings, and collaborating with nurses and the surgical team for cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and D&Cs.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program is required.
• 1 year of OR experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist is required or 3 years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment during obstetrical operations in the Labor & Delivery OR.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain sterile field throughout procedures.
• Scrub and assist as a member of the surgical team during C-sections, D&Cs and vaginal deliveries.
• Set up sterile tables, open sterile supplies and prepare case carts.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and ensure high standards of sterile technique.
• Support licensed staff with delegated treatments or procedures and prepare dressings.
