Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery Operating Room. You will handle instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure sterile field maintenance while assisting nursing staff.

The role requires a Surgical Technologist training background, OR experience, and prior direct patient care experience in a clinical setting, with BCLS on hire. This position is full-time in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required

1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required

3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required
