Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Components/Obsolescence Engineer to support DoD programs onsite. The role involves managing component obsolescence, coordinating with design, contracts, and supply chain to mitigate risks and optimize lifetime buys.

The candidate will analyze data, develop obsolescence strategies, and participate in contract negotiations, with travel as needed. A STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in obsolescence management.
• Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence methodologies.
• Experience with data collection, analysis and presentation of system impacts.
• Experience with project management, schedules, costs, and stakeholder integration.
• Financial and contract management experience with proposals, SOWs, and CLINs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and generate a program statement of work (SOW) and customer requirements.
• Develop obsolescence management processes and mitigation strategies.
• Support lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and contract negotiations.
• Interface with leadership across IPTs to communicate status of mitigation strategies.
• Conduct trade studies to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-in points for redesigns.
