Job summary

Docusign seeks a Software Engineer Intern - Observability (Platform) to help build telemetry pipelines and scale data processing for real‑time visibility into services. You’ll collaborate across infra and product teams, delivering a scoped 12‑week project on telemetry pipelines, platform scale, or service reliability.

The role is a 4.5‑month internship reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, with a hybrid in‑office/remote work arrangement and a Seattle hub preference.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2028.
• Experience with at least one general‑purpose programming language (Golang, Java, or Python).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Ability to work from the Seattle, WA hub in a hybrid arrangement, typically one to two days in office weekly during the 12‑week internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to observability data pipelines that ingest, process, and route metrics, logs, and traces from production services.
• Build and enhance backend services using Golang, Java, or Python to move telemetry reliably and efficiently at scale.
• Work with Kubernetes-based services on Azure and GCP to improve service health visibility and reliability.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, and SLO/SLA views using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ClickHouse.
• Help improve scalability, performance, and resiliency of observability platform components.
