Job summary

Automated Financial Systems, LLC is seeking an Observability Engineer to own observability across AFSVision HPC environments, including tool evaluation, log correlation and SLO/SLI definitions. You will lead end-to-end observability, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure compliance with FFIEC, SOC 2, and NIST requirements.

The role involves maintaining SolarWinds, ManageEngine, and Site24x7, designing early-warning indicators, and driving a roadmap from on-prem to cloud-native observability

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating log correlation platforms at production scale across Linux, middleware, and application logs.
• Background maintaining enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Site24x7) including patching and dashboards.
• Ability to build SLO/SLI frameworks and error-budget reporting tied to contractual SLAs.
• Experience producing client-facing performance and SLA reporting.
• Strong Linux systems background with monitoring of middleware and apps for correlation and RCA.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure preferred) with log analysis and correlation.
• Comfort working in regulated environments (FFIEC, SOC 2, NIST).
• Track record of reducing MTTD/MTTR through better detection and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate log correlation across Linux, middleware, and application logs.
• Deliver SLO/SLI reporting tied to client SLAs and error budgets.
• Publish client-facing SLA and performance reports on a regular cadence.
• Implement early-warning indicators for incidents (batch drift, resource saturation, connection health).
• Lead observability roadmap including tracing, synthetic monitoring, and cloud CI/CD/Kubernetes integration.
• Maintain core monitoring stack (SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Site24x7) with accurate dashboards.
• Reduce alert noise and incident costs; shorten MTTD/MTTR.
• Collaborate with Application Services, DBA, Network, and Security to correlate signals.
• Document standards, runbooks, and tooling configurations for adoption.
• Evaluate new tools and present cost/benefit to leadership.
