Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant for the OBGYN department. You will perform patient rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assist providers with procedures in a busy obstetrics/gynecology setting.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, CLIA‑waived testing, vaccines, and maintaining a clean, stocked work area. You will support scheduling, referrals, and patient education as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting.
• Preference for venipuncture experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures.
• Lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment.
• Supports onboarding of teammates.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
• Age-specific patient care knowledge.
