Job summary

Advocate Health in High Point, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support obstetrics/gynecology clinic operations. The role includes patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting clinicians during procedures.

You will administer routine medications per protocols, coordinate referrals, and help maintain a smooth clinic flow. Candidates should have an accredited Medical Assistant program and BLS; 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required
• Current Medical Assistant certification from CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA or similar listed certs
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• 1 year experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms patients for exams, records vital signs and health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures (strep test, wounds, specimen collection) per guidelines.
• Assists physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams and related testing.
• Administers routine medications under orders or approved standing protocols.
• Coordinates test requests and referrals; communicates with nurses and physicians.
• Maintains clinic flow and communicates clearly with patients.
• Supports additional clinical tasks per competency and supervision.
• Delivers age-appropriate care per department standards.
