Job summary

Atrium Health's North Charlotte OBGYN: Mountain Island in Huntersville is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. You will perform rooming, vitals, med reconciliation, and assist clinicians with procedures, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen handling, CLIA-waived testing, vaccines, and efficient clinic operations. Must have MA program completion or DD214 clinical training, and AHA BLS certification; eligible for CMA/RMA credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 clinical training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Two years verifiable MA experience within last 5 years for IL/WI divisions.
• Certification/License requirements vary by division (BLS, CMA/RMA, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies while providing patient care.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication rights.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clear communication and teamwork; escalates when needed.
• Keeps work area clean and stocked; equipment maintained.
