Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a formal program.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocking of supplies.
• May participate in training onboarding of teammates.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
