Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge for age-specific patient care and growth/development.
• Certification as CMA/RMA or equivalent per regional divisions.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and supports equipment upkeep.
• May assist with training onboarding of teammates.
• May serve as a role champion or on a committee.
