Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami is seeking an OB Tech NIGHTS to support the operating room team. The role involves non-licensed patient care duties under RN supervision, scrubbing for surgical procedures, and maintaining a safe OR environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CST or scrub program completion, BLS, and at least one year of surgery experience, with familiarity across Gynecology, General, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neuro, Vascular, Urology and ENT.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical scrub technician certification (CST) or completion of an accredited scrub program or experience as a scrub tech.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum of one year of surgery experience preferred.
• Experience across gynecology, general, robotics, ortho, neuro, vascular, urology, ENT services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scrubbing during surgical and invasive procedures under RN supervision.
• Maintain safe operating room environment and assist with instrument handling.
• Keep up to date with OR techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Support Performance Improvement Program initiatives within the department.

The O/R Scrub Tech performs specific non-licensed or non-professional duties of patient care under the supervision of the RN. As a staff member, he/she can expect to provide safe and effective patient care, through the performance of specific duties, as the surgical scrub tech during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse. Performs routine scrub as well as specifically delegated duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for all. Keeps current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment; assists with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program

What qualifications you will need:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Operating Room Scrub Technician Certification (CST) or Completion of an Accredited Surgical Scrub Technician Program or experience working as a scrub tech
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Minimum of one year of surgery experience preferred
• Skilled in all surgical service lines: Gynecology, General, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Urology, and ENT
• 1 year minimum experience as a OR TECH or OB TECH
