Job summary

Job Summary

As a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be a valued part of a highly collaborative team that is passionate about delivering newborns safely and with the highest standards of care, while honoring each professional’s skills and expertise in obstetrics and surgery. You’ll prepare the surgical suite, support the team during procedures, and ensure every patient receives compassionate care. Responsibilities
  • Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Participates in on-call rotation based on the need of the department.
  • Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment according to manufacturer's instructions after proper training.
  • Promotes hospital processes and goals, and communicates issues, whether actual or potential, to appropriate person in the chain of command.
  • Takes initiative in performing other duties, whether assigned or not, such as assisting with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning-over the OR, and assisting with scheduled supply inventory.

  • Completes other activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology for Surgical Technologist role is required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
