Job Summary
As a Lead Surgical Technologist, you’ll take on a vital leadership role in the OR, guiding your team and ensuring patients receive the safest, most advanced surgical care.
Responsibilities
- Lead surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure
- Scrub in and support surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment
- Guide and mentor surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices
- Oversee quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards
- Drive teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem‑solving, and support for on‑call and emergency cases
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Operating Room Scrub Technician Certification (CST) – Preferred
- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Scrub Technician Program or experience working as a scrub tech
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Minimum of one year of surgery experience – Preferred
- Skilled in all surgical service lines: General, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, and ENT
